Patients that are undergoing treatment with the Exceed system should be sure to: discontinue anticoagulant therapy, Aspirin or high does nonsteroidal anti – inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) for 14 days prior to treatment (must be approved by prescribing physician). If you have a history of cold sores, please inform your Provider as you may need to be pretreated with an antiviral medication. Discontinue topical retinoids or other skin irritants for a minimum of 3-5 days prior to treatment. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and use SPF 30. 

Immediately post treatment, the localized pin-point bleeding should subside within 5-10 minutes of treatment. Pain or discomfort may occur with gradual cessation following the treatment. Transient mild to moderate erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) can last for up to 6 days. Other inflammatory responses such as itching, warming, flaking or peeling can occur and will typically subsides within 8 days of treatment.
